Double Fail

Some people can fail in life big time, multiple times. Iltalehti, a Finnish yellow media, decided to enlighten us with one case of total failure just now; apparently an american dad got his children killed in a fire, was convicted for arson, and finally executed after several years of imprisonment in Texas, USA. Without any hard evidence. Ouch. Furthermore, the Texas governor didn't give him mercy, although he knew there was no hard evidence, and instead carried on with the execution.

The Iltalehti article also tells that there was a Science Comission set up in Texas in 2005 to study whether homicide investigators had made any mistakes during their inspections, and the fore mentioned case was among the first ones they studied.  Now a Texas Defence Council Union representative has made a statement that the Science Comission is going to be a lot less scientific, since they don't want ideology and politics mixing with scientific research. To add some peppers for the soup, the former Texas governor has presumably been trying to hinder the detailed investigations of the arson case.

But anyhow; Excuse me? "a lot less scientific". I wonder what methods they'll be using then to solve whether future homicide investigations have been viable or not?
